Assam Budget 2024-25: Assam Budget Session started on February 5 and ends on February 28

Assam Budget 2024-25: Several Significant Bills Are Expected To Be Introduced.

The Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly started today, February 5, and will continue until February 28. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will speak at the assembly's opening, and Finance Minister Ajanta Neog will present the state budget for 2024-25 on February 12.

There's tight security at the assembly premises for the session. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the introduction of important bills, such as the Assam Polygamy Ban Bill and the Assam Tourism (Development and Registration) Bill, 2024.

Additionally, CM Sarma plans to introduce "The Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2024," while Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah will present the "Assam Tourism (Development and Registration) Bill, 2024

Assam Budget 2024-25 Details

Assam's Finance Minister, Ajanta Neog, is all set to present the state budget for 2024-25 on February 12. According to Dr. Numal Momin, the Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, the budget session has already kick off today and run until February 28.

Dr. Numal Momin mentioned, "The state budget is on the agenda for February 12. We'll be delving into many important issues and presenting various bills during this session. Everything is in place for a smooth session."

Previously, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced the introduction of the Assam Polygamy Ban Bill in this assembly session. Alongside it, the new Assam Tourism (Development and Registration) Bill, 2024, along with several other new bills and amendment bills, will be brought forward in the budget session.
